What We’ve Been Up To

 

2 Months

Aniston is 2 months!  She weighs 10 lbs 10 oz and is 24 1/4 inches, which puts her in the 39th percentile for weight and the 99th percentile for height, tall girl. We’ll be honest, it’s been a long 2 months, but we are so excited to see her personality emerging more and more.  She has been a pretty colicky baby and its just so sad to see her uncomfortable. Since she turned 7 weeks she keeps having longer “happy periods”.  Her favorite thing to do is talk.   She loves to look at you and she coos back  and smiles so sweet.  Barron calls her baby Rowe which comes out as “baby Whoa” and I still can’t hear it enough.  Aniston Rowe we can’t wait to see you grow!

6 Weeks

One Month

Aniston Rowe is 1 month old! She weighs 9 lbs 15 oz and can barely be squeezed into her newborn size clothes.  She is doing lots of smiling (I know they say that doesn’t happen until 6 weeks but I think it’s because she was 2 weeks late?).  She is quite a diva and definitely very expressive.  We all love her more and more everyday and her brother still can’t get enough of her!

Brother Love

Barron is the sweetest big brother.  This didn’t surprise me because he has always been really good with his cousin London but even with his sister living with him 24/7, he is always kissing her and asking to hold her.  Tim and I can’t get enough of the cuteness!

Sugar and Spice and Tutus!

It is so fun to have a GIRL! Dressing up Aniston in all the girly stuff is my new favorite pasttime.  Here she is at 2 weeks.

First Bath

2 Weeks

Aniston Rowe is 2 weeks old!  She had her doctors appointment yesterday and she is doing great.  She weighs 8 lbs 12 oz and is 21 inches long.  This puts her in the 86th percentile for height and the 71st percentile for weight.  Her head is in the 60th percentile.

Welcome Aniston Rowe!

Aniston Rowe Davies was born, 14 days late, on January 12 @ 4:52 PM.  She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and is 20.5 inches long.  She looks just like her big brother and Barron LOVES his baby sister!

RE:CAP 2011

I was just referring back to my post from last New Years and decided to recap on how we did.

1.) Become Debt Free – We did accomplish this goal this year.  We read Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace book and have been able to successfully pay off our cars and debt and now pay cash for everything.  While I am very proud of this, I really feel completely humbled because it was only by the grace of God that we were able to do this.  We bought a MAJOR fixer house when we moved to Arizona for Tim’s job and he completely gutted and remodeled the entire thing and Tim’s hard work is the reason we were able to be in a good position.  Tim is honestly AMAZING (really, if you saw what he did, I’m not just saying that), but it was really prayer and seeking the Lord that we were able to flip a house in this market and HIM that got us through it.  I complained a lot and really relied on the Lord that life had to get better and Tim just tried to make me happy through all of it.  But yes, it feels really great to be debt free and have a savings and a plan.  I would highly recommend Dave Ramsey !

2.) Be Consistent – I definitely would not say anything about this year was consistent.  We finished our remodel, got pregnant, sold a house, moved back to California, Tim commuted to Phoenix for 2 months, so no, I would not say that I was consistent.  I do feel like even through all of those changes, I still feel I did a small bit better than the previous year, (when I was pregnant also).  I actually am excited for this in 2012 because I am optimistic that I am going to do better than ever this year.

3.) Get a New Camera – Nope, didn’t happen.  Mostly because we made a lot of big purchases this year and paying cash for the camera I want just hasn’t felt like the wisest move yet.  I hope this will be my next big purchase though!  (Maybe in 2012? No Promises)

4.) Learn How To Use It – Nope, obviously not.

5.) Serve Others – While I don’t think I did well on this in 2011, I think it is hard to measure.  One of my main goals was just to make time for others, have people for dinner, and I think we have done that more in the past 2 weeks than we did the entire previous year or two.  In 2012 I have goals to not only serve people in small ways but maybe even serve some less fortunate.

Our Prayers in 2011 were to get pregnant and move back to California.  Both of these prayers were answered and I honestly am still pinching myself.  After a long hard first 3 years of marriage, we feel like life is too good to be true.  While there will always be trials (one is probably on the horizon), we are waking up every morning, just so grateful for this new life and all of our blessings.

**Baby Update**  My due date was Dec. 29th, almost 5 days ago.  B was 6 days late so I tried to prepare myself, but I am just huge and puffier by the day and very ready to meet our little girl, so we are praying she decides to grace us with her presence soon.  I will update as soon as she comes!

Here are my New Years Resolutions – what are yours?  Honestly, with a new baby on the way I will be happy to complete one area of this list but if I can get the 2 kid thing down, I’ll try the rest.  We just had a big year, I am still reveling in all of our blessings that came in 2011. Cheers to 2012!

Holiday Fun

This year we have really been “getting in the spirit” with B.  He doesn’t completely understand Christmas, but it sure is fun teaching him about traditions and of course trying to explain the real reason we celebrate.  So far we have done some holiday baking and decorating and Barron is quite artistic!  He has the longest attention span I’ve seen in a 1 year old when it comes anything artsy/crafty.  Tim’s family has a yearly cookie bake at Grandma Betty’s every year.  All the cousins and aunts and uncles join in the fun.  This is the first year since we were engaged that Tim and I have been able to make it and we are so glad we could!  Here are a few pictures from the cookie bake as well as a few from making gingerbread houses with our friends, the Ewings (gingerbread houses with 3 boys under 3 was quite a sight!)

We’re Back!

I know…it’s been far too long! We’ve been busy moving to another state, selling a house, chasing a 1 year old and getting ready for a newborn.  I wanted to update the blog with all we have been up to but it is just too overwhelming.  I posted a few albums on my facebook if you want to see some of what we’ve done the past few months.  I plan to post pictures of our new house (and our old house for that matter!) but we’ll see if I get around to that.  I also seemed to have given up on the belly pics as well.  In the picture above I was 32 weeks and am currently 37 weeks to give you a reference.  Our little one is due December 29th so we are just busy getting ready.  I have a new computer so I hope to be back to updating much more often!

The Bump – 22.5 Weeks
